Privacy policy
Last updated: November 8, 2026
TestSpeed.app is operated by Zero Byte BD, Bangladesh. This policy explains what happens to data when you use the site. Contact: [email protected].
At a glance
- We save
- Speeds, ping, jitter, grade, server, device type, internet provider and approximate city — for share links. Details
- We never save
- Your IP address, your browser's user-agent, or anything that links a result to you.
- M-Lab
- Tests run on M-Lab by default, and M-Lab publishes results and IP addresses as open data. Choose TestSpeed Singapore in settings (⚙) to avoid this. Details
- In your browser
- Settings and your last 50 results, on your device only.
- Analytics and ads
- Load only after a test finishes, and only with your consent in the UK, EEA and Switzerland. Details
- Kept for
- 24 months, then deleted.
When you run a speed test
We save the result so it can be shared and, later, used for anonymous speed statistics. A saved result contains:
- download and upload speed, ping, jitter, latency under load and the bufferbloat grade;
- which server measured it (M-Lab or ours), the test length setting, and the device type (desktop, mobile or tablet);
- your internet provider and approximate city, region and country, looked up from your IP address on our own server;
- the date and time.
We never store your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, or any identifier that links results to you. To prevent abuse we keep a scrambled, daily-changing form of your IP address in server memory for up to 24 hours; it is never written to disk. Saved results are deleted after 24 months.
M-Lab
By default tests run on M-Lab, an open measurement platform. When they do, M-Lab receives your IP address and the test data and publishes them as open data for research. See M-Lab's privacy policy. To avoid this, choose TestSpeed Singapore in the test settings (⚙); that server keeps no request logs.
Stored in your browser
Your settings (units, server, test length, plan speed), theme choice and your last 50 results are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device unless you share a result. You can clear them with Clear history or your browser's settings.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages visited, tests started and completed, rounded speeds) and Adsterra to show ads. On pages with a speed test, both load only after the test has finished. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland — and whenever we can't tell where you are — we ask for your consent first, and nothing loads until you agree; you can change your choice any time with Cookie settings in the footer. These services set their own cookies and process your IP address under their own policies: Google, Adsterra.
Service providers
- Cloudflare delivers the website and answers the latency pings; it processes your IP address to do so. Cloudflare privacy policy.
- MaxMind GeoLite2 is a database we run on our own server to look up provider and city. No data is sent to MaxMind.
- Our servers are hosted in Singapore.
Credits
This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.
Your choices and rights
Because saved results aren't linked to you, we usually can't find "your" results. If you want a shared result removed, email us the share link and we'll delete it. Depending on where you live you may have further rights (for example under the UK or EU GDPR); contact us and we'll help.
Children
TestSpeed.app is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date above. Significant changes are announced on the site.
